I love this series so far. It follows the coming of age of Jacob Marshall who has been taken in by an Amish family. The interactions between Jacob and his new Amish world is wonderful. It makes you smile, laugh and cry. Jacob was abandoned and in the foster care system. By chance he landed in an Amish home. In the first book, A Lancaster Amish Home for Jacob, we watch Jacob grow and mature, nurtured by his new Amish family. There is a great relationship between Amish father and Englisch son as he learns the ways of the Amish. In this book, he’s older and happier and it could all come crashing down with the arrival of someone from his past. I was totally engrossed in this book two. I love Amish fiction books and this new one by Rachel Stoltzfus is another good addition to my collection.

I have just started reading these Amish fiction books recently and I must say that they are very entertaining. My mom and I both read this one and enjoyed it greatly.

This was the 2nd of the Jacob series, and Ioved them both! Too many children in the Foster care system are mistreated and unloved, leading to behavioral and emotional problems. In this case, Jacob, luckily, ended up with a wonderful Amish family, and for the first time in his young life, is discovering what a joy life can be with a good family. He is also learning about himself and who God is, much to his own surprise. This cannot be accomplished without many teenage problems, as the book will show.

I enjoyed reading about Jacobs life with the Amish. Very interesting reading about Jacob’s acceptance of a quiet and peaceful existence. Although he seems to get everything riled up and get himself in trouble.

A Good Story

I am enjoying this series about Jacob, but I would prefer it to not have any curse words. Jacob is a good example of a life being changed for the better. I recommend the book to anyone.

Good story about Jacob seemingly to adjust to his Amish life. However, there is only conflict in the making when a person from his past shows up. This person wants Jacob to return to the English world. Will Jacob return or stay?
