Set in a whimsical Lancaster County of fantastic possibility grounded in strong Christian values, sixteen-year-old Amish orphan Ella faces constant abuse as she struggles to do all of her own chores as well as those of her two older cousins. Ella has only her whittling and a deep and abiding faith in God to give her strength and comfort. Desperately wishing for some kind of escape, but knowing that it is almost impossible as she has neither time nor permission to step away from her work to court with other local boys, Ella prays every day for a chance to pursue her dream of having a loving home and family of her own. But when Ella meets the deacon’s nephew, Samuel, who has moved from Somerset to Lancaster, will their instant connection be enough to defeat the treachery of Ella’s cousins, the violence of her uncle, and a tragedy that threatens to destroy the fragile hope for a future that Ella has managed to hold onto in spite of all odds?

This was an exciting read. So good I had to purchase book 2 right away and read it too. Got book 1 for free and book 2 for $.99. While I did enjoy book 1 & 2, I will not be purchasing # 3 and #4 as the are a bit pricey at $2.99 each..

Amish Cinderella

This is a quick, fun read in which the author takes the fairy tale Cinderella and turns the main character Ella and poses her as a modern day Cinderella. Ella is just no Cinderella, she is an Amish Cinderella. Abused by her uncle and cousins who took her in after Ella’s parents died in a flood, she is separated from her sisters, miserable, sad, and wants to escape this environment. I cannot blame her, I would want away out myself. I like how how the author used a fairy tale character in the story as the lead role. I am looking forward to reading the, second part, as well as other stories/books by Ms Stoltfus.

Darker Amish Cinderella – Out of Hell,Into Love

 on September 9, 2015
By My Review
I actually liked this story. It is a clean, christian based story and from the heroine’s perspective. It is dark in that it deals with abuse and violence, but with a faith in God perspective that all things do happen and one can rise out of it. If you are looking for a feel good story and strictly romance without “evil” components then this is not for you. If you are looking to dissect this story based on your own ‘what the Amish are’, then again this story isn’t for you as well. As I said, it has a darker element to it as a story… dealing with isolation, physical and verbal abuse, but it is triumphed by the heroine’s strong faith and courage in desiring and praying for a better and happier life. It is not for the faint-hearted, too into the box kind of readers…. It is a ‘fairy tale – Cinderella inspired plot that deals more with the heroine’s struggles than just a fairy tale Cinderella love story. Think Cinderella’s inside scoop on her inner and outer demons and struggles in an Amish setting.

Interesting twist

The characters were interesting. Even though this is an Amish story this Cinderella has a little more strong pain and abuse that you might be surprised . But it is still a good book , I enjoyed it. I had to get the next books because these have Cliffhanger so you really have to get book after book which I did.
