Reserve 5. Kindness.

Lydia is thirty years old, well past the normal Amish age for wedding. She is convinced that no man will desire her as she is heavy. In her efforts to remain unnoticed, Lydia’s only trip is the church gathering every other week.

Exactly what occurs when the good-looking Eli Schrock arrives in her neighborhood and makes an instant impression on all the girls of marriageable age?
Lydia is also drawn to Eli Schrock, despite believing that a man would never discover her ideal. Will Lydia lower her defenses in time to permit Eli to see the true lady that she is, or will Eli’s attention be drawn away to the more outgoing, confident women in the community?

Good little story

This is a good little story and an end to this series. It would have been more interesting if it had went a little further with her mother being made aware of the shameful way she treated her daughter . Again I am amazed at the bad editing in this series of books. There were so many mistakes it made reading more of a puzzle to find the mistakes as you read. Such as a word search puzzle.

A Lovely Book

This book tells of a young woman whose mother is abusive to her. She feels ugly and worthless. God brings a young man into her life to show her that she is beautiful and made in the image of God. He shows her that God loves her just as she is. I recommend this author and book series.

I have read all five of the Amish Buggy Horse series by Ruth Hartzler. I loved all of them. They are clean and well written. The Horse named Blessing is truly an excellent addition to every one of these books and the stories are the kind that leave me eagerly waiting to read the next story. I just wish I knew when her book six called Purpose is supposed to be available. I will have to search from time to time.

What a cruel mother Lydia has. That woman should have her tongue cut out. Thank God Eli came into her life and she in his. Maybe if they keep walking together everyday he for the help is gives his leg and she may shed a few pounds and make her feel better for her own well being. When she no longer has to hear her mother harp on her weight, because Eli will not allow her to talk to his wife like that. I am sorry to see this series come to an end. I will miss reading about this amazing horse named Blessing, he sure did have the right name. That horse was the best thing that happened to Nettie, Melissa, Isobel, Patience and Lydia. I would highly recommend these five books to everyone, who likes to read about the Amish life or just a good store in general.

Blessing, a horse, exhibits her strange behavior again. Read to see how Blessing helps an Amish girl realize someone sees her inter beauty, not what her mother has convinced her she really was.

I have enjoyed each one of the books in this series and look forward to the next one. I absolutely love the “horse sense” displayed by Blessing and enjoyed the way it reminded me of a specific Old Testament donkey. My heart bled for our heroine in her struggles and rejoiced in her triumph. I am enthralled with stories of the Plain People and the many emotional and spiritual facets brought out in Ruth Hartzler’s many books I have read. I plan to continue to follow Ruth’s writings. Thank you for providing wholesome, uplifting stories that tug at the whole gamut of my emotions – I laugh, I cry, I become angry with the spiteful and hateful pranks, but in the end I always smile and search for more.
