I enjoy Amish fiction and have read quite a few books about them. This is a short story about a young Amish woman as she returns from her trip and schooling in New York City. She has decided she does want to be plain and is making plans to be baptized. The story brings out how sometimes the Amish intermarry with their families. Cousins marring cousins and the physical and mental problems it can cause. Anne went to a community college in New York because she wants to be a teacher in the Amish school as her mother was. This in itself is not typical for the Amish. They stop school at the 8th grade and learn their trades by helping on their farms or making furniture etc. Obviously this community in Lancaster is not as strict as others.

The story line itself was fine but the author is not a refined author. She isn’t a bad author but just not a really good one. Things didn’t flow like they should. Very choppy. Plus there are many editing errors in the book. However it does deal…

Wow, a powerful and passionate love story. Annie Fisher may have found the love of her life but her nemesis Barbara Kurtz will do everything she can to sabotage her relationship. This delightful story had my full attention from start to finish.

Very well written and fast paced. I was rooting for Annie and touched by her wholesome goodness. Barbara and her menacing mom added danger to the story and it really made me think about the seriousness of mental health issues and how they can easily lead to life and death situations.

I would wholeheartedly recommend this excellent romance; five stars!
