There is nothing wrong with the authors premise or idea. I bought this book on the basis of the Amish-looking name, and the number of good reviews, so when I picked it up I was astounded. The author’s idea for the story was great, her writing has much potential, but I felt like I was looking at a first draft of an undeveloped idea. I find Amish romance fiction to be very interesting and a glimpse into another culture. Some of the Amish phrases were used and could be understood in context to what was going on around it. It wasn’t a page turner, action book. So, if that’s what you’re looking for, you won’t care for this romance. But the two main characters are very authentic and I felt like I was in the middle of Amish society. It is a solid read and long enough to allow the plot to unfold naturally. I recommend Simple Harmony to anybody who likes Amish romance fiction. I am hoping to see more stories from Rachel Stoltzfus, and have snapped up the …
