This book was written with a very different feel to it. I don’t know for sure, but I would have to say that the author must be of the Amish faith to have written a book in this style. I found it very interesting to learn more about the Amish faith, but I would have appreciated a less flat style of writing. A better handle on descriptions and conversations between characters would have been a help to the author also.

I found it difficult to get into the story and found that it was because it is part of a series and this author doesn’t do any back story (or not very much) to help a new reader get into the book.

There are continuity problems and this book needs better editing. The author seems to need a bit of experience in what the non-Amish community wants out of their books. The basic plot line could have been interesting (if a little gruesome) – but the secondary and tertiary plot lines just proved to be too much for this author to handle all in one book.

Miriam has been stalked by Lance Newman in her Amish town. Now he is in jail and she
is being courted by John and the laws state that every couple date only each other.
However a new danger looms within their community as another girl yearns for John’s
attention going against the courting laws. Must read.

Some typos – Location 510 – it should be “How, not How,
    Location 805 – a, not s
Location 997 – same, not sane
Location 1062 – it should be her, not hr

I found this book rather disconcerting, when it started I had the feeling I was in the middle rather than the beginning. As it progressed it improved only slightly. I started to give it 3 stars but changed my mind and only gave it 2. I would not go out of my way to read it had it not been a free book.
