Wonderful Book of Love, Faith and Determination!

What a wonderful book! I missed the first two, but it didn’t detract from the storyline or characters for me at all. Cora Richards is 18, but knows that one emotion is worth moving across the country for. After secretly conversing with Louis Albert through the mail to become his mail order bride, she convinces her family to chance the Gold Rush in Last Chance, Montana. When they arrive, Cora admits to her family that she has secretly wanted to be with this stranger. The family agrees to meet him. What should be a happy encounter turns dark when her family learns that Louis is 13 years Cora’s senior. To make matters worse, he cannot provide for himself. Assuming he is protecting his daughter, Walter Richards declines to give Louis his blessing. Then it all goes downhill from there with another suitor who appears like a good match but well… I’m not going to give it away. What makes this book shine is that Cora, while she is strong willed, also deeply respects her family and her faith. Her family, in turn loves her, and most of the troubles Cora suffers in the book have to do with differing expectations about what would be best for her. This is a great read, well written and well paced. Loved it!

Very good story. Sometimes striking a funny bone with the two over-protective brothers.

I really liked this book as it was a true testament of Godly love not only between hopeful bride and groom but of the family unit. Honoring parents when you don’t FEEL like it, waiting for the Godly time rather than instantly taking matters into your own hands.

This was a delightful historical romance kindle book to read and enjoy. The characters were living in the old west during the gold rush. The bride in this story was a mail order bride that had convinced her family to settle in this town. Her groom was sent packing when they met, they wanted a wealthier suitor for her. A great book at a special price from Amazon.A must read.
